Styles Defined-Necklines

In part two of our mini-series on Bridal styles, we are helping to define the most popular necklines used in wedding gowns. There are so many kinds to choose from-some trendy and some traditional. If you are just starting on your search for the perfect gown, keep an open mind and try on a variety until you find your perfect look!

Off-the-Shoulder

This neckline sits below the shoulders to flatter a woman’s collarbone and shoulders, with sleeves or straps that cover part of the upper arm. This style  will look good on almost all figures.

Casablanca 2031

Good for: Full-chested and pear-shaped women

Sweetheart

The sweetheart neckline- which is shaped like the top half of a heart- is a wonderful option if you want to accentuate the decolletage.  There are several “degrees” of sweetheart available, and it is easily customized to suit your style.

Casablanca 2053

Good for: Showcasing your neck, chest and decolletage

Halter/High Neck

The halter features straps that wrap around the back of the neck, or a high neck with deep armholes. Both look best on broad shoulders or taller women — 5’7″ and up.

Casablanca 2054

Good for: Great shoulders that want to be shown off!

Scoop

A U-shaped neckline, that is a universally flattering. It can be cut low, and quite often the scoop will continue on the back of the dress.

Strapless

One of the most popular styles, the  strapless neckline looks wonderful when paired with either a sweetheart or straight-across square bodice.
